Jose-"Pepe"-enlisted-in the-Navy-in-October-1942 and-was-honorably-discharged in November 1945.
He-resumed-his-career-in February 1946 at the Naval Air-Station-in-Corpus Christi,-Texas,-and-then transferred-to-the-Naval Air-Station-in-North-Island,-San-Diego,-Calif.,-in June-1963,-where-he-lived and-retired-from-the-United-States-Navy-and-Naval Reserve-in-August-1982,-after-41-years-of-service.
He-was-preceded-in death-by-his-parents:-Jose L. and Teodora O. Zardeneta;-son,-Louis-A.-Zardeneta;-and-granddaughter-Teresa-Cramer.
He-is-survived-by-his wife of 70 years, Esperanza G.-Zardeneta;-daughter,-Elsa-Dutton;-grandchildren Ryan,-Erica,-Kevin-and Abby-Cramer;-and-sister Magdalena-Z.-Gabrillo.
