JOSE MARIA VASQUEZ APRIL 1, 1925 - AUGUST 27, 2016

Jose Maria Vasquez, 91, entered this world on April 1, 1925 in Los Colorados, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and closed his eyes on August 27, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones by his side. Jose Maria worked as an irrigator for Younker Farms for over 40 years in Buckeye, Arizona. In 1995, Jose Maria and his wife made Laredo, Texas their permanent residence. Jose Maria was a twin and second of sixteen children born to Jesus Vasquez and Nieves Sanchez de Vasquez. Jose Maria married his beloved wife Maria, on January 18, 1957; whom happily shared a beloved marriage of 48 years. Maria preceded him in death on May 27, 2005. They were blessed with eight children who survive him: Olga (Rolando) Leza; Marienela Avelar; Leticia (Israel) Guajardo; Jose M. Vasquez Jr.; Emma (Richard) Orr; Luis Angel Vasquez; Guadalupe E. Cuellar; Jesus Estevan (Cher) Vasquez; ten grandchildren: Irene McCray; Sonya Harter; Rigoberto Avelar Jr.; Alberto Jose Avelar; Deborah Leza; Rachael Vasquez; Melissa J. Guajardo; Karissa Orr; Jesse and Kimberly Cuellar as well as seven great grandchildren. Jose Maria is also survived by his siblings: Maria de Refugio Ramos; Leopoldo Vasquez; Alicia Terrazas; Isabel Sanchez; Rosa Flores; Jose Angel Vasquez. The family will receive condolences the morning of Wednesday the 31st of August 2016 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd; where a testimony and funeral ceremony officiated by Elder Rolando Leza of the Payson Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will commence at 10 a.m. Procession will immediately depart the chapel concluding the funeral service to the Laredo City Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife.
