Jose Texas

Jose Esparza also known as “Mono” 83, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at a local hospital.

Jose was born in Dolores, Texas on Dec. 30, 1933 and had been a long life resident of Laredo Texas. He was a retired carpenter for more than 30 years. Jose won the hearts of many people with his friendly smile in the Guadalupe Flea market where he was employed as a manager.

Mr. Esparza is preceded in death by his beloved wife Maria Bertha Esparza and his son Carlos Esparza

He is survived by his children, Pastor Jose (Mary) Esparza Jr. of Zapata, TX; Maria Bertha (Alberto) Ramirez of Moorhead, MN; Reynaldo (Minerva) Esparza, Juan Manuel Esparza of Laredo, TX; Ricardo (Kelly) Esparza of Sioux Falls, SD, Hermelinda (Gary) Garretson, San Antonio, TX, San Juanita “Janie” (+David) Martinez, Rosa (Rogelio) Rocha, Adriana (Alfonso) Wheeler, Agustin (Judy) Esparza all of Laredo, TX. Mr. Esparza is also survived by his brother Reynaldo Esparza, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 5 p.m. 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:40 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jose Esparza Jr., Reynaldo Esparza, Agustin Esparza, Alfonso Wheeler, Rogelio Rocha, Gary Garretson Jr., Francisco J. Cruz, and R.J. Guerrero.
