Jose Mata

Jose Mata, age 82 was returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.

Jose was born to Eleuterio and Emilia Mata on July, 18 1937 in Laredo TX. He was the youngest of his ten siblings. He was survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Oralia Mata and sisters, Gloria Gonzalez and Maria Cavazos.

Jose lived an adventurous life and was a true jack of all trades. He loved fishing, gardening, carpentry, and most of all his family.

Jose was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his loving wife Oralia (Trevino) Mata in April 1958. Together they had five children, Laura TenBroeck, Diana Mata, Johnny (Bonnie) Mata, Jeannette (Robert) Black, and Guillermo (Claudia) Mata. Twelve grandchildren, Nicole, Abba, Joe, Marcus, Shalina, George, Andrew, Sheribiya, Isamar, Laura Ashley, Matthew ✝, Eric and twelve great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, June 28, 2020 from 5 to 9 pm at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1420 Jacaman Rd; where a Vigil and Rosary will commence at 7 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning, June 29, 2020 departing at 9:30 am from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Military Honors will be rendered by U.S. Marines and American Legion Post 59.

Pallbearers will be: Johnny Mata, Guillermo Mata, Andrew Mata, Eric Mata, Marcus Lopez, Kevin Foley. Alternates will be: Robert Black and Rudy Garcia.
