JOSE GUADALUPE HERNANDEZ

Jose Guadalupe Hernandez, 90, entered into eternal rest Monday, January 08, 2018.

Jose Guadalupe worked with his hands throughout his life and dedicated his carpentry work to his Heavenly Father. We were truly blessed to have been given so many years with him; he now rests in the arms of the Almighty, where we hope to meet him again.

Our father was also equally proud and honored to serve his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was a kind and compassionate man. Together, mom and dad, fostered many children throughout the years. Rest in Peace dad, we will forever hold you in our hearts.

Jose was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esperanza Hernandez; as well as by his parents, Guadalupe and Anita Rodriguez Hernandez; siblings, Alicia Mora, Rodolfo Hernandez, Hortencia Chavez, Ernesto Hernandez, Herminia Trevino, and Aurora Perez.

He is survived by his son, Ernesto (Blanca) Hernandez, daughters Ana (Armando) Espitia, Leticia H. Castaneda, grandchildren Araceli H. Alvarado, Ernesto (Pamela) Hernandez, Jr., Jorge A. Espitia, Joey Castaneda, Jr., Adrian Castaneda, Lizzy Hernandez, 6 great-granchildren, 1 great great granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd. from 4 to 9 in the evening. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 in the evening.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 12, 2011 at Dunamis Ministries, 1601 Shiloh Dr. for a service at 10:00 a.m. Funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Laredo City Cemetery. Military Honors will be officiated by the Laughlin Air Force Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be: Ernesto Hernandez Jr., Armando Espitia, Tony Mora, Daniel Viera Jr., Martin Treviño, Eduardo Chavez, Trinidad Salazar Jr., and David Viera.

Honorary Pallbearer will be: PV2 Adrian Castañeda, Joey Castañeda and Jorge A. Espitia.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Rafael Mangual, Retama Manor West and Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa for their companionate care.
