Jose Angel Gonzalez, Sr., 80, entered into the gates of heaven on August 27, 2020.
Jose Angel was born in the city of Jerez, Zacatecas Mexico in a ranch named Arroyo Seco de Arriba where he lived until his young adulthood. He along with his father moved to Mexico City in search of work and to be able to provide better living conditions for their family. After sometime his whole family eventually relocated to Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas where he would meet the love of his life Juanita. On January 1st 1967 they got married and would eventually start their adventure together leaving their life in Mexico and migrating to the United States. During their early family years they were migrants moving to different cities and states such as Springtown, Sinton, Wichita Falls, and Idaho in search of work every summer. They then resided in Chicago, Illinois for a few years before moving permanently to reside in Laredo, TX where he dedicated most of his life as a salesman, merchant and a small business owner. In the mid 80’s he became the owner of two furniture stores “Furniture Liquidators”. During his lifetime he got to sell everything from simple bedding, furniture, household goods, insurances just to name a few and for the majority of his life sold new and used tools at local flea markets at his puesto “El Guero Tools” where you would find him every Thursday to Sunday for the past 35+ years. When not working he loved spending time at home on his lazy boy catching his favorite shows/novelas/news, attending to his many dogs as well as his home. Beyond his immediate family he played a father figure and close friend to countless people. He will be remembered by many for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, wise cracks and the biggest heart always thinking of others first.
