Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Josefina Alfaro and sister Teresa Gonzalez.

He is survived by his daughter Maribel J. (Jorge) Gutierrez; sons, Pablo N. Alfaro, Eduardo S. (Brenda) Alfaro; grandchildren, Christopher, Esmeralda, Vanessa Gutierrez, Pablo Jr., Alex, Nathalie, Emily, Klarissa, Edward James Alfaro; brothers and sisters, Juan (Juany) Alfaro, Manuel (Maria ") Alfaro, Maria de Jesus (Jesus ") Gonzalez, Jose Angel Alfaro, Enrique Alfaro, Maria del Carmen (Rogelio) Salazar, Martin Alfaro, Juan Alberto (Edna Alicia) Alfaro, Antonio (Sara) Alfaro; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
