Jose Francisco Acosta, 62 years of age, was called by the Lord to enter into eternal rest on Monday, September 20, 2010.-He faithfully lived his life in a manner that centered on serving and loving God, Country, and Family.- Jose was a lifelong resident of Laredo; he graduated from St. Joseph Academy and attended Texas A&I University.-He then went on to proudly serve his country during the Vietnam War in the US Navy as a Radio Operator RD3.-He was employed with the U.S. Border Patrol for 29 dedicated years, and most recently held the position of Supervisory Sector Enforcement Specialist. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving family. Having been blessed with only daughters, he considered himself to be "Bendito entre las mujeres." Laughter was and will continue to be the key ingredient at Acosta family get-togethers; his illustrious memory will be greatly missed.-
He is preceded in death by: his sister, Elsa Acosta and brother, Ricardo Acosta. Together they left a great void in the hearts of the Acosta family. He was also preceded in death by: his grandmothers, Concepcion Acosta and Anita Maldonado; aunt, Angelina Acosta; and parents-in-law Jose and Concepcion "Guela Concha" Rubio.-
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Isabel Acosta; devoted daughters, Rebecca Acosta,-Cynthia (Mike Conchin) Acosta,-Vanessa (Albert Olivo) Acosta, and Lisa Acosta; parents, Francisco and Juanita Acosta; brothers and sisters,-Gracie (Ricardo"") Acosta, Eddie (Ronnie) Acosta, Ana Laura (Jorge) Vidaurri; George (Veronica) Acosta; Mike (Grace) Acosta; Rudy (Vicky) Acosta; Virginia (Robert) Garza; Irma Juarez; Elsa (Steve) Hill; and Francisco (Diana) Acosta Jr.; grandsons, Stevie and-Sebastian Garcia, Daniel Acosta, and Brayden Olivo, who were his pride and joy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
