JOE NIETO III May 01, 1939 - May 27, 2014 Joe Nieto III, 75, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in his home surrounded by family in Laredo, Tx. Joe was born May 1, 1939 in Laredo, Tx. to Adelina and Joe Nieto Jr. He graduated from Martin High School in 1958, and was a standout athlete.Soon thereafter Joe volunteered to serve his country and enlisted in the US Army where he was stationed in Seoul Korea. Joe was a loving husband, father, and friend. In his spare time he loved playing golf and enjoyed having a good cookout. He was a little league coach, the Delmar little league president for a period of time, and was very active in the community. He was a very successful business man who came from humble beginnings. Joe owned an Allstate office for over thirty years and was the first Hispanic to make it into the Allstate Hall of Fame. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would never turn his back on anyone, he treated everyone with respect. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Adelina O. Nieto Jr.; and his brother, Roy Nieto. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Anna R. Nieto; children, Rick (Sandy) Nieto, Anthony Nieto, Joe E. (Kristina Trevio) Nieto, Jorge "Sonny" Nieto, Roberto Botello, David (Laren) Botello, Anna Ashy; grandchildren, Kassandra, Ricky Roy Nieto, Gia Gizzelle Nieto, Jayda Jayleen Nieto, Sammi Jo Nieto, Jacob Botello, Eric Botello, David Mark Botello, Mikhail Botello, Jose Rafael Botello, Anna Victoria Ashy, Adam Ashy; siblings, Sylvia Benavides, Daniel Nieto; sister in law, Irene (Raul) Zapata, Marcos (Molly) Rocha; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary scheduled to begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. recited by Mrs. Juanita Cantu and a Prayer service following at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Nora Carmen Lopez. A Chapel service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road. Officiated by Pastors Norman and Sandra Howell of Laredo Church of Crossroads. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
