Jesus "Rudy" Ortiz

Mr. Jesus “Rudy” Ortiz, 77, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, May 16, 2022.

Rudy was a devoted and loving husband, son, and father who was respected and adored by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. His good-hearted humor and joyful spirit will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

One of his prized memories was bowling a 300 perfect game just three days before his 54th birthday. He built his own home & owned two successful businesses as a Master Plumber and DJ. His greatest legacy, however is the love and acceptance he gave unconditionally to everyone around him. He will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are: Toni Ortiz, his loving wife of 54 years; his two children, Jesus Ortiz Jr. (spouse Melba Urdiales-Ortiz) and Cristy Werner (spouse James Werner); and six grandchildren, Marisa Werner Gaudet (spouse Adam Gaudet), Jesmel Ortiz, Christopher Werner, Jesus “Bebo” Ortiz, Kaitlyn Werner, and Shanaya Ortiz. The family would also like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: his lifelong friends, including Steven Spurlock, Gloria Petty, Tony and Mine Urban, † David and Gloria Gonzalez, Pat Flores, and Tomas Costilla.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Esther and Jose Gallardo; and his mother-and-father-in-law, Lorenzo and Cristina Guerrero.

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Private Cremation Services will be held at a later date.

We are thankful to everyone who has offered prayers for Rudy during his last days, we are comforted knowing that he is at rest in his heavenly home with Jesus Christ our Lord. Rudy was a blessing to all; his memory will live forever in our hearts.
