Jesus Saldivar

October 27, 1954 — December 31, 2010

The Lord has welcomed the world's greatest husband, father, and friend, Jesus D. Saldivar, into the heavenly kingdom on December 31st, 2010.

Words cannot describe the loss of such a wonderful human being. There are only words to celebrate and remember the life of a loving, devoted, honest, family man who always thought of the needs of others above his own. Jesus strongly believed in family first. He cherished his role as a husband and father and always sacrificed everything to make sure his family was well provided for. Jesse supported his children in every endeavor they pursued. He was an exceptional father. He instilled in his children the value of perseverance, hard work, and the belief that all goals are achievable. More importantly, he taught his children how to love life and to follow their dreams with passion. As a husband he displayed the unconditional meaning of true love, devoting his life to his high school sweetheart for 35 years. Jesus and Alma were inseparable and enjoyed traveling together, going to the movies, and spending time with their children. Jesus is the epitome of a true family man.

As a friend and co-worker, Jesus was also a role model for others to follow. He dedicated 30 years to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency reaching the rank of Watch Commander.-He was considered by his peers as an exceptional leader and manager. Jesus was the type of leader who did not allow obstacles to deter him from getting the job done. Every problem had a solution and he inspired others to think alike. He always treated everyone with dignity and respect. "Chief Saldivar", as he was known by his peers, was very well respected as a man who led by example. Many a time you could see the Chief working the front lines and teaching the next generation of agents how to take the initiative. His philosophy in life was, "always be prepared, give 100% in everything you do, and nothing is impossible." As a friend, there are countless stories of how he was there to lend a helping hand, an ear to listen, and/or advice in their time of need.

Aside from his family and work, Chief Saldivar had several other things he loved in life, old black and white movies, wrestling, and Las Vegas.

Jesus Saldivar will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.
