Jesus Jose Patino Sr., 84, passed away at his home in Laredo, Texas. He was surrounded by his family and friends.
Jesus was born in Laredo, Texas on March 28, 1928. He married Alicia Villarreal of Rio Grande City. During their early years of marriage, Jesus and Alicia were migrant workers. While working in the northern states, Jesus was hired at The Inland Steel Company in Indiana. Jesus, Alicia, and their three children lived in East Chicago, Indiana for ten years. Jesus then returned to Laredo and worked as a locksmith for the Laredo Independent School District.
Jesus loved music. Although he was partially deaf, he could pick up the guitar and play his favorite songs by memory. As a youngster, he would play the guitar with his friends Lalo Duarte and Jesus Govea. A special thanks to Jesus Govea for his frequent visits filled with music that Jesus loved.
Jesus was preceded in death by his children, Irene, Jose and Adrian Patino.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alicia Patino and his loving daughter, Imelda Patino Murillo. He is also survived by his granddaughter and grandsons, Imelda Patino, Jose Ramon Murillo Jr., and Javier Jose Murillo; also his great granddaughter, Ava Murillo, his great grandsons, Thomas, Christian, and Matthew Murillo.
A special thanks to Dr. Luis Benavides and to The Nurses on Wheels for proving invaluable support to the family. A special thanks also to Jesus Patino's caregivers, Sylvia Estrada and Martina Benavides. The Patino family is also thankful for all the family members and friend's prayers and support.
