On November 28, 2010, God called our beloved father, Mr. Jesus Meza Jr. home. Born September 19, 1924 in Laredo, Texas to Jesus and Isabel Viggars Meza, he was the first son of twelve sibilings.

While attending Martin High School at the age of 17 years old, Jesus was called to go fight in World War II. He was sent to France, Germany, and Belgian. He was a highly decorated War Veteran that received numerous metals which included: two Purple Hearts Bronze Star Medal, European- African- Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, W.W.II Victory Medal and participated in the Battle of the Buldge. After serving his country, he returned to Laredo to finish his education and graduated from Texas A&I.

In 1952, he married Thelma Olivares. They were blessed with four children, which he was very devoted to. He was a successful businessman who served his community for over 50 years. In 1972, he opened Meza Office Machines and then proceeded to open Meza Business Machines in 1982.
Jesus had a strong faith in God and continued to strive to get closer to our Lord through prayer and study. He was actively involved with the Cursillo Movement for many years and was a very devoted catholic and dedicated parishioner of Christ the King Church, which he attended daily. He also participated in the American G. I. Forum for many years.

Jesus is preceded in death by his loving wife, Thelma O. Meza of 48 years of marriage; his mother Isabel and father Jesus Meza; sister, Guadalupe Hastings; brother Benito Meza.

He is survived by his four children Jesus R. Meza, Thelma (Alex) Gutierrez, Michael A. Meza and Hugo (Graciela) Meza; his loving grandchildren Robert (Hilda), Hugo David, Katherine, Michael J. Gutierrez, Carlos Hugo, Jesus R. (Chevy) Meza, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers, Juan (Antonia), Alfredo (Margarita), Jose (Igna) Meza; six sisters Luz de Arcos, Estella (Jorge) Vega, Elena (Joseph) Miester, Rosa (Rene+) Garcia, and Isabel (Fidel+) Morado and his dear sister that helped care for him Maria (Roberto+) Gutierrez. Also by his sisters-in-law Elva L. Garcia and Carmen C. Meza; and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Our beloved father was a pillar of strength and courage for his family and a Hero until he was called by the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. We will cherish his memories in our hearts forever.
Pallbearers will be Anibal Gerardo Garcia, Martin Alfonso Garcia, Robert Meza, Hugo David Meza, Michael J. Gutierrez, Jesus R. (Chevy) Meza, Michael A. Meza, and Jesus R. Meza.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Carlos Hugo Meza, Hugo C. Meza, and Alex Gutierrez III.

Sincere thanks are given to Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard as well as the American Legion Post 59 for the military honors.
