Jesus Eloy Marin, 56, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011.-
Eloy always had a passion for sports, but his love for baseball shined the most.-He was a star athlete at Saint Joseph's Academy in the 70's.-Eloy took that drive to bring home numerous awards and titles.-Elo shared the love of the game with many kids in Laredo where he coached the Optimist league for twenty-two years alongside Simon Medina, Jr. where they went as far as a sectional tournament in Weslaco, Texas.
Eloy also stood for something else".music.-Music was a big part of his heart, and you could see it every time he stepped on stage with his bass guitar.-Eloy was part of the local group Ross and Friends.-He loved to go out and play a gig, even if it was out of town, birthday parties, local events, you name it, they were there.-When they weren't playing as a group, Eloy would sit at home practicing with his guitar making sure everything was just right.
Something else Eloy always made sure he did was make time to be with his family.-It might have been at a game watching his son play, a dance performance his daughter had, or even sometimes it meant "Family Game Night" which he couldn't get enough of because his wife normally won.-Those who knew Eloy knew that he loved to cookout whenever possible, hangout with as many people as he could, and simply make everyone laugh and smile.-Eloy will be greatly missed by all the people he touched, but will forever be playing in our hearts.
