Jeronima Garza

July 20, 2025 — February 15, 2014

On the morning of the 15th of February of 2014, God called Jeronima Garza, 88, into his eternal glory. Jeronima grew up in a humble and faithfilled household. Although she did not have the opportunity to get an education, her heart and goodwill were always that of the finest lady. Welita Tita had an enormous and caring heart and soul that could be felt throughout the room, wherever she would be. It took nothing of her to give of what she could for the betterment of others, especially her loving and caring family. She was a true matriarch who taught her children and family to love one another and to always give of oneself. Jeronima was a true laborer. During her life, she could never stop working, whether it would be cooking, taking care of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren or her beloved "plantitas", she was always doing something. That morning, an era was closed, a book was finished. We only hope to imitate what you have taught us along these years. Into the arms of the heavenly father we return your soul, so that you may be at peace amongst those who have gone before you. Rest in peace Welita Tita. We will miss you. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Francisco Garza; daughter Nerida G. Chapa. Surviving her are her children and step-children: Leonel (Marilinda) Garza, Francisco Garza Jr., Rosendo Garza and Aurelia Santos, as well as her sisters: Victoria Martinez and Santiaga Martinez de Ruiz. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Maria Inez (Rudy) Pea, Nerida (Evaristo Jr) Garza Chapa and by her great grandchildren: Edward Pea, Larissa Garza and Leonela Garza. The family will receive friends the morning of the 17th of February 2014 from 9 to 12 noon in the Chapel at Joe Jackson North, 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Rosary and Prayer Service will begin promptly at noon. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the funeral service professionals at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, Inc., 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, TX 78041
