Jeanette Moser Mckeown, 88, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on November 02, 2023.
Jeanette was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She attended and graduated from Ursuline Academy as Salutatorian in 1952 and went on to continue her studies and graduated from University of Texas in Austin. She also attended Stevens Institute of Technology. Jeanette taught chemistry at Laredo Junior College and Martin High school for over 30 years. She along with her husband John Mckeown were very involved with the Laredo Animal Shelter, where she served as President. Jeannette was a previous member of Lady Grand Cross Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Jeanette was a member of the Society of Martha Washington, a debutant in 1952 and portrayed Martha Washington in 1996 at our local Washingtons Birthday Celebration Association. She was a licensed U.S Customs Broker since 1974. Above all, Jeanette was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always happy to be close to family and friends and will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. McKeown; son, William Moser McKeown; and brother, Charles Aaron Moser.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Caryoln Josephine McKeown; grandchildren, Lauren Hinojosa, Ann Michelle (Ari) Hofman, and Edwardo J. “Wayo” Hinojosa, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Rheya Ashley Walker, William Christopher Walker, Benjamin Hofman, and Elan Hofman.
The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday morning, November 7, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday morning, November 7, 2023 departing at 10:45 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Eduardo J. Hinojosa, Jr., Ari Hofman, William Walker, Patricio Sanchez, Christopher Notzon, Marcel Notzon, James Notzon, and Jeffory Walker.
