It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Jamie Nell Baum, who departed this life on December 31, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on September 27, 1931, in Spur, Texas, Jamie's life was one of dedication, warmth, and love. 

In 1962, she relocated to Laredo, Texas, where she left an indelible mark on her community. Her varied career began at Red Front Drug Store as a soda jerk and later transitioned to a photography studio. She ultimately found her vocation in banking, dedicating many years of her life to Spur Security Bank, where she was known for her unwavering commitment to her work and her community.

A beloved member of the Los Dos Laredos Doll Club, Mrs. Baum was an avid collector of dolls, expressing her passion for this art both through her collection and her involvement in charitable events. She had a deep affection for animals, particularly her cherished chihuahua, Emma, who brought her immeasurable joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Baum and parents, Henry Eli and Rachel Simmons. 

Mrs. Baum is survived by her only son, Kurt Andrew Baum, who continues to honor her memory. 

A graveside service will be held at Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur, Texas at a later date.
