James Ellis

James John "Jimmy" Ellis, 71, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 13, 2014. James was born in Laredo, Texas to Claud Oliver and Maria Ellis. He graduated from Martin High School in 1961, and then joined the Reserves for the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. He also worked for 30 years in retail at Richter's and Foley's until his retirement in 2003. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and taking fishing trips with his family. James is preceded in death by his parents: Claud Oliver and Maria Ellis. He is survived by his daughter: Mary Josephine Ellis; son: James Ellis, Jr.; grandchildren: Anthony James Ellis, and Elin Josephine Chapa; son-in-law: Pablo Jose Chapa, and former wife: Maria Graciela Ellis. He also survived by other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 at Joe Jackson Springfield Funeral Chapel, 1900 Springfield from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 departing at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
