Emblem

Jaime Delgado, a friend to all, transitioned to eternal life on November 23, 2024 with family and loved ones by his side.

Born July 27, 1930 to Ana Maria and Julio Delgado in Mexico City, Mexico, Jaime spent his adolescent years in Mexico City and Nuevo Laredo. While living in Nuevo Laredo, Jaime attended high school at San Agustin Catholic School in Laredo, Texas, where he would meet the love of his life and future wife, Bertha Diaz.

Jaime and Bertha were blissfully married on November 21, 1953, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. This year, just prior to his passing, Bertha and Jaime were blessed to celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary.

In 1955, Jaime joined the United States Army, spending the majority of his enlistment stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army in 1963, Jaime was granted citizenship to the United States.

Jaime and Bertha soon relocated their family to Laredo, Texas, where Jaime began a career in life insurance with American National, where he received several awards and recognitions for his business accomplishments. Ever the entrepreneur, Jaime ultimately started his own insurance company providing life, health and casualty insurance to the community.

His fulfillment was found in friends and family alike. Always with a kind word and generous, selfless spirit, Jaime made friends readily… especially enjoying the cultivated relationships at the Caballeros Extraordinarios Social Club. He was also a devout Catholic and, along with his family, was and active parishioner at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church.

Jaime was predeceased by his brothers, Ismael Delgado, Julio Delgado, and Fausto Delgado; as well as by his sister Rosa Julieta Delgado.

Cherishing his memory and celebrating his wonderful life, is his beloved wife Bertha; his sons, Jaime (Marcela) Delgado, Julio (Vilma) Delgado, Jose (Hilda) Delgado, daughter, Sylvia (Eduardo) de Lachica. Jaime is survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, with whom he shared and curated uncounted memories filled with joy and pride. Jaime is also survived by his sister, Luz Maria Garza and, brother, Jose Luis Delgado.
