IRENE PEREZ April 5, 1931 - May 19, 2014 Irene Perez entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, May 19, 2014, surrounded by her loving and caring family. Irene lived her life to the fullest and was filled with love and joy. She loved to sing, travel, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Irene had many dear friends with whom she created many special lifelong memories. She is survived by her children, Hector "Tati" (Patricia) Tijerina, Raquel (Enrique) Valdez III; grandchildren, Rebekah (Danny) Alvarez, Enrique S. Valdez, Hector C. Tijerina, Gabriela Tijerina, Stephanie Ibarra, Samantha Ibarra, John Ibarra; great grandchildren, Andrea Alvarez, Daniel Alvarez, Emma Valdez; siblings, Dora (Cayetano) Tijerina and family, Manuel (Herminia) Perez and family, Alfredo (Claudia) Perez, Carlos (Aurora) Perez and family, and Sabas (Angela) Perez and family. A heartfelt gratitude to Irene's nieces, Patricia (Rolando) San Miguel, Cynthia (Mario) Garcia, Leticia (Robert) Henry and Sylvia Arreguin for their love and support. We would like to also thank her physicians, Dr. Arturo Garza Gongora, Dr. Peter Ngo and staff, and Dr. Joseph Camero. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel; 1410 Jacaman Rd. Visitation will continue Thursday morning, May 22, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, where a Memorial Service will commence at 10 a.m. with Rev. Paul Harris as the officiant.
