Imelda Ramirez

Imelda G. Ramirez, age 86, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 surrounded by family.

Mrs. Ramirez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. Imelda attended and graduated from Martin High School. For over 40 years she worked as an Executive Secretary at Guarantee Radio Supply Corporation in downtown Laredo. She was also involved part time for many years in the family business, Arturo Ramirez & Sons Grocery Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Enrique E. Gonzalez and Benigna Garza de Gonzalez; baby sister, Maria Ester Gonzalez; her son, Eduardo Javier Ramirez; her brother, Enrique Anastacio (Rosario E. +) Gonzalez; and her beloved husband of 58 years, Roberto Rodolfo Ramirez.

Imelda is survived by her sons, Roberto Rodolfo (Lilia Y.) Ramirez, Jr. and Jose Luis Ramirez (Sonia); grandchildren, Jose Luis, Jr., Alejandro Daniel (Kimberly), Eduardo Javier, Jr. (Amanda), Alyssa Yvette, and Lizzette Ramirez; Sheana Lee and Robert Ramos; and brother, Arturo Ivan Gonzalez (Leticia), as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend their utmost gratitude to her long time personal physician, Dr. Carlos Garza, for the many years of outstanding care he provided to her but especially for his love, compassion and support he gave her and the entire family throughout her struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. We were truly blessed to have had him look after our dear mom.

We offer our sincere thanks to Aida Mendiola, RN and Cecilio Jasso, LVN from Heavenly Nurses Home Health LLC, for their expert care and special attention they provided to our mom during her last months.

We would also like to express our gratitude to her wonderful caregivers who assisted her througout the years at her home.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel, 1410 Jacaman Rd. A Vigil for the Deceased will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, January 15, 2018 departing from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel at 9:30 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Roberto R. Ramirez, Jr., Jose Luis Ramirez, Dr. Carlos Garza, Jacob Gonzalez, Alejandro Daniel Ramirez, Eduardo Javier Ramirez, Jr., Ismael Gonzalez, and Jaime Ramirez.
