HUMBERTO G. SEGOVIA
NOVEMBER 23, 1936 – SEPTEMBER 12, 2019
Humberto G. Segovia was born in Cotulla, Texas, November 23, 1936. He was raised in Laredo, Texas, educated in St. Joseph's Academy and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. After graduating he began his teaching career in Lamar Middle School, he then taught at Martin High School, and later became the Science Department Head Chairman at Nixon High School. He made his final move to private education at St. Augustine High School as their Science Department Head Chairman, where he implemented and created the first computer lab in the 1980's at St. Augustine High School. Mr. Segovia loved his vocation and career as a teacher. He made it his duty, wherever he taught, to assure all his students received the best education.
Mr. Segovia was a great father and member of the community. A full time father and educator found time to volunteer his time as a President of the PTA at Mary Help of Christians School and member of the church choir at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Always supporting his family, school and church. Our family and our Laredo community will sorely miss his dedication and fervor for education.
