HORTENCIA GAITAN
November 3, 1937 – August 11, 2017
Hortencia Gaitan, passed into eternal rest on August 11th at the age of 79.
Hortencia was a unique and caring individual, who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Garcia and Esther Maldonado; her husband, Perfecto Gaitan, and her son, Armando Gaitan.
Hortencia was the beloved mother of Gerardo (Yolanda) Gaitan, and Anna Maria (Eligio) Gonzalez; dedicated grandmother of, Vanessa Y. (Juan) Saldaña and Roxanna M. (Juan Angel, Jr) Leal, Melissa Gaitan, Christina Gaitan, Ashley (Kevin) Trevino, Gerardo Armando (Yaritza) Gaitan, Jessica (Victor) Saldivar ; devoted great-grandmother of, Juan Armando Saldaña, Matthew Saldaña, Maximiliano Leal, Melaynie Trevino, Kevin Lee Trevino, Jr. and Aubrey Gaitan; as well as beloved sister of, Ruben (Teresa) Garcia and Ramiro (Antonia) Garcia.
Family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. W. Vasquez, NSCL Home Health Nurses, Ms. Coleman and Lorena, as well as her providers, Thelma Cisneros and Aurelia Hernandez for their continued care of Mrs. Gaitan.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels and Cremation Services; 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will held on Wednesday August 16, 2017 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
