Hortencia T. Salinas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt entered the Kingdom of Heaven Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the age of 92.
"Tenchita" as she was affectionately called, was a passionate, loving and caring person.-She was a very active, devoted catholic at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, where she was a member of the Guadalupanas, Santisimo y Sagrado Corazon, Catholic Daughter of St. Mary Mary Magdalene Court # 1989, Eucharist Minister, Cursullista, Adoracion Nocturna, Church Choir, and Lector.-She was also known at church for her famous fritada, tamales, and enchiladas.-She taught us to love and cherish our family, friends, and God, our Almighty Father.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vicente Salinas, her children, Roberto Salinas, Rosario S. Mendez, and Velma-Salinas, great-grandson, Hector Salinas, and siblings, Raul, Ramon, Rodolfo, Ricardo, Beatriz Trevino, and Holaya V.
She is survived by her loving children, Miguel (Guadalupe) Salinas, Leticia (Rene) Rodriguez, and Gerardo (Cynthia) Salinas; daughter-in-law, Elodia Salinas; son-in-law, Roberto Mendez.-She is also survived by her 18 adored grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend the utmost gratitude to her caretakers, Maria Blanco and Sylvia Grund, her doctors, Dr. J. Camero, Dr. D. Cruz, and especially Dr. Oscar Perez, Home Health United, and Laredo Quality and Tony at Reliable Ambulance.-Most of all to my husband Rene for the utmost love and support he gave to his in-laws.
