HILDA J. HERRERA
November 28, 1955- December 04, 2016

Hilda J. Herrera, 61, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 04, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

She was an educator for over 32 years, having worked with LISD as a 4th grade teacher in both J.Z. Leyendecker Elementary and Santa Maria Elementary. She retired in 2011 having lovingly taught writing and in her subsequent retirement years, continued to work as a substitute teacher until this past September.

Hilda was a woman of strong faith that was ever present in her daily life and who's faith will continue through her children. She belonged to Mother Cabrini Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosa Mistica Prayer Group. We continue to believe she will guide us and watch over us from her heavenly rest.

Mother was a fervent Martin High School "Tiger". She was ever the faithful supporter even years after her graduation in 1974. "Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger." May you rest in peace dear mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Juanita Jasso; and sister, Yolanda Gonzalez.

Hilda is survived by her beloved children, Gina Alejandra Herrera and Jesus Alejandro Herrera Jr.; as well as by her siblings, Isabel (Alicia) Jasso Jr., Juanita J. (Gerard) Patterson, Jose (Maria Elena) Jasso, Jorge Jasso, and Armando Jasso. She is further survived by her many other loved relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday the 8th of December 2016 in the main chapel of Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, TX 7804; beginning at 5 o'clock in the evening until 9 o'clock. A Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited promptly at 7 o'clock.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel the following morning of Friday the 9th of December 2016 at half past 9 o'clock to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church (Mother Cabrini) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be recited at 10 o'clock in the morning.

Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
