ENRIQUE FRANCISCO “HENRY” GARCIA

November 23, 1933 – December 06, 2017

Enrique Francisco “Henry” Garcia, 84, has joined our Heavenly Father in his Kingdom on Wednesday, December 06, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

Henry graduated from Martin High School in 1951 where he met his beloved wife of 62 years, Ana Maria de Luna. Henry served a term of two years in the U.S. Navy. Henry attended Texas A&M University where he studied Aeronautical Engineering. He returned from college to work at Miracle Candle, the family business. Later, Henry would go on to work in the advertising industry as a graphic artist for locally owned companies such as Richter’s Department store. In the late seventies, Henry ventured into his own advertising company. His love of art was expressed through sketching, calligraphy, painting, and jewelry making. Another great passion of Henry’s was flying. He would fulfill this passion by simulation flying at home and weekend ventures of flying co-pilot throughout south Texas.

Henry expressed his love for our Heavenly Father every day of his life and was evident in the lessons he left with his children throughout their lives and through his final hours. Henry continued to teach his children how live with God in their heart, to love one another, and most important, how to prepare oneself before reading the word of our Heavenly Father. Henry had the gift of knowledge of the Holy Bible. He shared his knowledge with his children, grandchildren, and many in the church community have been blessed with the understanding of the Word of our Lord. Henry attended Deacon School in Corpus Christi, Texas where he received the blessing of teaching the Word of God. Henry was involved with Cursillos, Search, Pre Cana, and A.C.T.S. He provided seminars on Life in the Spirit and classes on scripture reading at his fellow parish, San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Henry’s wish was for all to know and love the Lord.

Preceded in death by his parents: Rufino Garcia and Josephine Worsham Garcia, his brother, Richard Garcia, and sister Dolly Pena.

Survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Ana Maria and their four children, Dr. Enrique T. (Delia) Garcia, Rene Mario (Aimee) Garcia, Gerardo Ruben (Dora Alicia) Garcia, and Ana Teresa (Ramon) Salinas; grandchildren: Christina Melissa (Fiancée, Gabe), Aaron Worsham (Aidee Fabiola), Joshua Alexander (Anna), Amanda Renee, Andrew Justin, Christopher David, Amber Renee, Jonathan David, Mario Marcel, Ramon, Alyssa Christina, Melissa Rebecca, Samantha, Victoria, Viviana, Sinjin, Madison, Ethan, Sebastian, Mark, Anastacia, Amithiest; and his great granddaughter: Emily Renee.

Ana Maria and her children would like to sincerely thank all those who visited with Henry while he was hospitalized and took time to send love and prayers Henry’s way. A special thank you to Dr. Adonis Zuniga-Goldwater and Dr. Benson Huang for caring day in and day out for our father. To the endless nurses who compassionately cared for and treated our father with so much tenderness during his time at LMC. Also, to Dr. Alejandro Pruitt from San Antonio and the nursing staff from Methodist Hospital for their service. To the physicians and staff at Vitas Hospice for making our father’s final days so comforting.

Furthermore, a very special thank you to Dr. Enrique T. Garcia who made his father’s final days more comfortable which also allowed Dr. Garcia’s mother, brother’s, and sister to listen to our fathers final lessons and wishes which made for some of the most priceless memories our family will forever cherish. This would never have been possible without your Quiq.

Lastly, a very special thank you to the Delia, Dora, Aimee, and Ramon for the love and support you provided us with during this journey with Dad.
