HENRY "HANK" NEUMANN JR. JANUARY 12, 1933 - JULY 22, 2016
Henry "Hank" Neumann Jr., 83, passed away July 22, 2016, in Laredo Texas. He was born on January 12, 1933 in Round Top, Texas in Fayette County and shortly afterward moved to Fayetteville, Texas.
Hank worked for the Central Power and Light Company from 1957 to 1998, and for the Texas-Mexican Railway from 1969 to 1985. He was a dedicated volunteer and Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years and for 35 years served the First United Methodist Church as Head Usher, as well as being involved in the church's Angel Food Ministry and Annual Pumpkin Patch.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Neumann and Estella "Stella" Wunderlich; his uncle Raymond Wunderlich; his sisters Junell Blankenburg and Virginia Kruse.
Hank is survived by his wife, Dorothy Neumann; his children, James H. (Gloria) Neumann, Robert M. (Michelle) Neumann, Betty A. Neumann and Charles E. (Sonia) Neumann; his grandchildren, Alexander James Neumann, Catherine Neumann, Matthew Neumann, and Cristian Neumann; siblings, Corrine Lehman, Margie Simmons and Elmond Neumann; sisters-in-law, Mary L. Webber and Sandra Sue Webber. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Luis M. Benavides for his long care of Hank as well as Nurses on Wheels Hospice for their help and care during his last days."
The family will receive condolences from 5 to 8 in the evening of Monday, July 25, 2016 at Joe Jackson Springfield Chapel, 1900 Springfield Ave.; where a Prayer Service will be held at 6 pm with Pastor Paul Harris, officiating.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 in the morning of Tuesday, July 26 2016 at First United Methodist Church 1220 McClelland Ave. All that will be attending are asked to meet at the church, there will be no procession at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Neumann, Robert Neumann, Betty Ann Neumann, Alexander James Neumann, Bill Chavez and Charles Whitfield.
