Mr. Hector Fuentes Sr., 88, entered into the loving presence of the heavenly father on Friday, June 30, 2017 at a local hospital having been surrounded by his loving family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Julio and Leonor Fuentes and by his 13 brothers and sisters.
He will forever be remembered by his devoted spouse: Maria Fuentes; children: Norma Idalia Fuentes-Ybarra, Nora Imelda (Jesus E., Jr.) Pena, Diana Ivonne Fuentes, Héctor Fuentes Jr., Martin Fuentes and Alberto (Verónica) Fuentes. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Melissa (Trevor) Tankersley, Robert Michael (Alyssa Tamez) Ybarra, Christopher Hector Ybarra, Jesus “Eddie” Pena III, Jessica (Andy) Servantes, Leslie Ann Fuentes, Kristina Marie Fuentes, Alberto Fuentes Jr. and Andrew Jacob Fuentes, as well his loving sister, Leonor Castillo, 7 loving and adored great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, along with countless other friends
Mr. Fuentes was a veteran of the World War II Era, Korean Conflict Era and Peacetime. He served in the Marine Corps from September 7, 1946 to August 12, 1948 and from September 8, 1950 to September 28, 1953.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral and Cremation Services from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. For information on Mass time, please call our office at 956.722.0001
Rite of Committal and Interment with Military honors will be held at a later date.
