Hector Rodriguez

Hector (Tito) Rodriguez, age 98, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, September 17, 2020.

Hector was born on March 8, 1922 to his parents, Antonio & Antonia Rodriguez in Laredo, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II and was awarded the Bronze Star. He worked for the family owned business “La India” Packing Company and later co-owned the business along with his siblings until his retirement.

As a true lover of the outdoors his hands were rarely still, working at the ranch building fences and corrals. He enjoyed reading western novels, playing dominos and having coffee with his brother, brother in-law and friends. He appreciated each and every day of life that was gifted to him. He willingly gave the best of himself to his family and friends. The cherished memories of him will live in our hearts forever.

Hector was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Tomasita G. Rodriguez, son; Hector Rodriguez, Jr. and his parents; Antonio & Antonia Rodriguez.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Oralia Rodriguez and Martha (Flo) Esparza, granddaughter; Alexandria Esparza, great grandchildren; Mia G. Trevino and Nicholas A. Trevino, brother; Romeo (Lupita) Rodriguez, sister; Hilda R. (Abel) Arce, daughter in-law; Margarita F. Rodriguez. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other loved relatives and friends.

We wish to acknowledge with a special thanks and heartfelt gratitude for the caring that our Dad received from Chayo for the past 7 years.

The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday morning, September 26, 2020 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.

The funeral procession will be departing at 11:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon.
