Harlan E. Bailey, 54, went with the Lord November 11, 2011 at his home in Laredo Texas. Harlan was born on October 24, 1957 in Laredo, Texas to Arthur and Pearl Bailey. Harlan was a proud family man and a patriotic American. Harlan graduated from Martin High School in 1975. He married the love of his life, Laura Sendejo-Bailey, on April 24, 1984. Harlan was the man of the house, the cook, and the family camera man. He often walked around in a flour-drenched Harley Davidson shirt with his camera close by. Harlan glowed of generosity and couldn't help but to donate to organizations like St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital and the Big Heart Leadership Giving Club and was a believer in random acts of kindness. The Food Network and the Cooking Channel were his favorite television past times and where he found inspiration for many of his cooking experiments. Close family and friends looked forward to visiting the Bailey family because of Harlan's welcoming personality, sense of humor and his fabulous cooking- smoked meat, fajitas, and monte cristo sandwiches were among the favorites.-He was the proud supervisor of the FAST Enrollment Center for the United States Customs and Border Protection Agency in Laredo. Through his job, he had fantastic opportunities to travel the globe; like the six months he worked in Genoa, Italy and the year he worked in Montreal, Canada. Harlan was most proud of his beautiful children and all of their accomplishments. His family will remember him through not only all of the wonderful memories he gave to them but also through the music he loved by artists like Bobby Vinton and Merle Haggard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Pearl Bailey; and his eldest sibling, Elvie Helms.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Laura Bailey; his 6 children, Megan Wilson, Naomi Stolo, Tiffany Bailey-Armendariz, Hope Bailey, Cash Bailey, and Destiny Bailey; his 5 grandchildren, Elise Stolo and Shyann Stolo, Luis "Alex" and Natalia Armendariz, and Faith Bailey; 7 of his siblings, Arthur "Bill" Bailey, Richard Howell Bailey, Ellen Young, Edna Klingensmith, Elizabeth Hinkle, Eva Smith, and Edith Mills.
