Mrs. Guadalupe R. Viera, 96, entered into the eternal kingdom of heaven on January 29, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by her loving children at her side. She was born in Laredo, Texas on November 21, 1920 to Felix and Dolores Rodriguez.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Ignacio Viera; parents: Felix and Dolores Rodriguez; sister: Maria del Socorro (Pat) Calvo, Concepcion (Pedro) Arizola; brother: Antonio (Aurora) Rodriguez; son's in law: Jorge Sanchez, Jerry Silva, Dennis Brouhard; daughter in law: Alicia Viera; and granddaughter, Sylvia Sanchez.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Rosario Silva of San Jose, California; Victoria (Russ) Libby of San Antonio, Texas; Mary Brouhard of San Antonio, Texas; Diana (Jose Luis) Barrera of Laredo, Texas; Margarita (David) Corkran of San Antonio, Texas; Sabas Ignacio (Silvia) Viera of Laredo, Texas; Fernando Viera of San Antonio, Texas; Ricardo Viera of San Antonio, Texas; Eduardo Viera of San Antonio, Texas and Gerardo (Ellie) Viera of Orange, California; as well as by 26 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother Luis (Maria) Rodriguez from Laredo, Texas and sister Ana (Hector) Soulas of Corpus Christi, Texas. Further surviving her are numerous loving nieces and nephews and an extended family.
Our most heartfelt gratitude is extended to all the staff and caregivers at Mystic Park Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in San Antonio, Texas for their compassion, care and attention they gave to our beloved Guadalupe.
The family will be receiving guests on the evening of Friday the 3rd of February 2017 at Joe Jackson North Funeral and Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., beginning at 5 o'clock in the evening and ending promptly at 9 o'clock.
A Rosary for the repose of her soul shall be offered at 7 o'clock in the evening.
The funeral cortege will depart at 8:20 in the morning on Saturday the 4th of February 2017 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 o'clock in the morning.
Rite of Committal and Interment shall immediately follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
