Guadalupe Ibarra

Guadalupe P. Ibarra, 80, entered into her eternal rest on July 30, 2017 surrounded by family in Austin, Texas. She was born on July 11, 1937 in Laredo, Texas and was a resident of Laredo until the passing of her husband Roberto Ibarra, in 2010 after which she moved to Austin, Texas. Guadalupe was skilled in a variety of arts and crafts, and enjoyed sewing for her family.

She received her degree in Medical Lab Technology from Incarnate Word University in San Antonio, Texas and worked as a medical lab technologist at Mercy Hospital in Laredo. Guadalupe was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother, who often put the needs of her family before her own. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, search-a-word puzzles and camping with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Salomon and Genoveva Palacios, and one brother Adolfo Palacios (Sylvia+).

Mrs. Ibarra is survived by her sons Roberto L. Ibarra Jr. and Gabriel (Nikki) Ibarra; daughter, Monica I. (Jose) Campos; nine grandchildren: Elena (Johnathan) Gray; Yliana, Nicholas, Elias and Noah Ibarra; Jordan and Sierra Bruner; Jose Jr. and Emilio Campos; and one great grandchild Stryder Ian Gray; three sisters Marie (David+) Krumm, Juanita (Adalberto) Reyna, Maxima (Lonnie) Oliver; and one brother Victoriano (Beatriz) Palacios; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today, August 1, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels; 719 Loring at Cortez Street.

Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017, departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Rite of Committal and Interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
