GREGORIO SANTOS

Mr. Gregorio Santos entered eternal rest on September 06, 2016 to be with the Lord God Almighty. He was a kind, loving and humble husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who dedicated his life to working hard for his family and living according to the laws sent by God. All who knew him will always remember him for his quiet and reserved demeanor and his white guayabera.
He was born in Dolores, Texas to Herculano and Juanita Vasquez Santos. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific front under the Command of General Douglas McArthur. He worked in retail at Salinas Los Dos Laredos and Joe Brand for over 40 years. He married Maria Luisa Perez and raised three children.
He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Luisa, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Herculano Santos, brothers Manuel and Julio Santos, sister Antonia Lopez, sister in law Dolores Rogerio Santos, and brothers in law Manuel Robledo, Nicolas Lopez, and Bernardo Perez.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Maria De Los Angeles Santos, Juanita Elvira Santos, and Gregorio (Gloria) Santos, Jr. and grandchildren: Ramiro (Cynthia) Saucedo III, Christine Marie Saucedo, Maria Luisa Santos, Kimberly Santos. Also his great-grandchildren Chelsea Marie Saucedo, Nolan Bryan Saucedo, Andrew Curtis Serna, Sarahi Barrera and Anna Karen Barrera; brother Juan V. Santos and sister Maria Eliza Robledo (CA), and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank a special family friend Micaela Vielma for her dedication and loyalty to our father's care. Also his caregivers, especially Maria Carrizalez, who went far and beyond in his care and remained with him till the end, Orfelinda Perez, and Aurora Ginez. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the VA Clinic especially Gloria Turner, and the employees at Retama West.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. to San Jose Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and American Legion Post 59.
Pallbearers will be: Gregorio Santos, Jr., Ramiro Saucedo III, Julio Santos, Jr., Roman Santos, Gerardo Santos, Juan Santos, Jr., Roberto E. Santos, and (Maj.) Fernando J. Guerra.
