Gloria Medellin

Gloria Medellin, 71 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She was born and raised in Laredo to Policarpio and Nieves Medellin on April 4, 1942. She enjoyed being around the family and spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Medellin was preceded in death by her parents: Policarpio and Nieves Medellin, her brother, Roberto Medellin, her granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Rodriguez-Cox also the father of her children, Cande Rodriguez, Jr. She was survived by her children: Oscar Luis (Diana) Rodriguez, Candy (Sherry) Rodriguez and Jeannette (Daniel) England; her grandchildren: Oscar Luis "Louie" Leal-Rodriguez, Amber Ann Rodriguez, Cande Rodriquez, IV, Ashley Nicole Rodriguez, HM3 Jon Keith Cox, II., Larry Paul England, II., and Sean Michael England and great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are her brothers: Jose Luis (Berta) Medellin, Policarpio (Rosa) Medellin and Abelardo (Marielena) Medellin. Vigil for Mrs. Medellin will be held today Friday, December 13, 2013 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, December 14, 2013 departing at 9:40 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel to Christ the King Catholic Church for a holy mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the family plot in the Laredo City Cemetery.
