Mr. Gilberto "Shamu" Flores, Jr., 24, died the evening of Sunday, March 22, 2015. Gilbert was born in Laredo, Texas to Gilberto Flores Sr and Cynthia Gutierrez. He leaves behind a large family and many great friends who mourn his passing. Surviving family members include: Gilberto Flores Sr. and Cynthia Gutierrez, his parents; brothers and sisters: Juan Manuel Lopez III, Crystal Villarreal, Josh Alexis Flores and Mason Flores. He is further survived by his grandparents: Alicia Flores, Manuel (Mary) Flores, Roberto Sotelo, Alicia ( Federico) Gutierrez; aunts and uncles: Monica Lee (Polo Garza) Flores, Judy Gutierrez, Laura Flores, Ruby (Saul) Garza, Arturo Flores, John Eric (Joanna) Sotelo, Roberto Carlos (Lisa) Sotelo, Elia Villarreal and Rene Gutierrez; cousins: Albert Cruz, Albert Cruz Jr., Sergio Ortega Jr., Arturo Flores, Sydney Ortega, Sharleen Garza, Alexa Sotelo, John Eric Sotelo Jr., Hailey Sotelo, Khloe Sotelo, Mandy Flores, Alyssa Flores, Justin Rodriguez, Ruby Medellin (Juan), Gabriela Garza, Israel Garza, Valerie de la O; as well as other numerous beloved family members and many great friends. The family invites you to celebrate his life on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Springfield Funeral Chapel, 1900 Springfield Ave., where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral procession will depart on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 08:10 a.m. to San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 08:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
