GEORGE V. GARCIA M.D.
August 31, 1932- February 18, 2017

Dr. George V. Garcia, 84, entered into God's arms on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Garcia was the son of Tomas H. Garcia and Estanislada "Lilia" V. Villarreal. He was married to Norma Olga Cantu (deceased 1984).

He graduated from Martin High School in 1949, and in 1957 graduated from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, besides having attended Baylor University. He served the Laredo community for over 25 years both as a physician and as small business owner. Dr. Garcia had many enterprises including Towne North Mobile Home Park, Warwick Apartments, and Tiendas Ranch.

Dr. Garcia is survived by his five children George Victor Garcia Jr., Fred Vincent Garcia-Norris (wife Laurie), Cynthia Lynn Garcia (Carmen), Sandra Norma Garcia, and Sally Ann Garcia-Zuniga (husband Paul); by his sisters Alicia Saenz and Dora Foster, and sister-in-law Minerva Barrera, as well as by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous friends and relatives. His grandchildren's names are Kevin Austin Zuniga (wife Lisa R. Gallego), Norma Ashley Cortez (husband Jesus), Talitha Faith Zuniga, Alexander Bernard Zuniga, Allison Garcia, Audrey Garcia, and Madolyn Garcia. His great-grandchildren are Kayleigh Zuniga, Paul Dezmond Zuniga, Marcus Zuniga, Landen Cortez and Amerie Normalynn Cortez.

The family is so grateful to the many people who helped take care of their father over the years including: Doctor's Hospital & staff; Laredo Medical Center & staff; Laredo Specialty Hospital & staff; his physicians Drs. Gomez-Vasquez, Dr. Huang, Dr. Joaquin Cigarroa, and his caretakers Bertha, Pati, Elsa, Maura, Beatrice, Esperanza and others. Thank you for being a part of his life and God bless you all.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral and Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas. 78041. Prayer Service will commence at 7 pm.

Final viewing will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:15 am. at Joe Jackson North Funeral and Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, Texas. 78041, where the procession will depart at 10:15 am.

Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
