Gary Mackey Sr.

Mr. Gary James Mackey Sr., 67, was welcomed into the heavenly kingdom on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas while being surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Armandina Mackey; grandson Corvin Kenneth Mackey.

Gary is lovingly survived by his beloved spouse of 43 ½ years of marriage, Mrs. Vilma Benavides Mackey; children: Gary James (Yesenia) Mackey Jr., Jean Michelle (Antonio Jr.) Mackey-Deleza, Mackenzie Leonard (Maria del Rosario) Mackey, Jason Sam (Beatriz) Mackey, Mark Duane (Marilyn) Mackey, Jacob Ben (Mayra) Mackey; grandchildren: Alexis Michelle Mackey, Deven Tyler Deleza, Lauryn Michelle Deleza, Jorge Ortiz, Ken Preston Mackey, Jezreel Aaron Mackey, Mark Nicholas Mackey and Christian Herrera. He is further survived by his siblings: Samuel Richard Mackey, Linda Jean Applewhite, William Ray (Guadalupe) Mackey, Rose Marie (Santiago) Garcia and Darlene (Tom) Rangel.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 9:40 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
