GABINO CEDILLO, JR.

Gabino Cedillo, Jr., devoted husband and father entered the gates of Heaven, Monday, December 6, 2010 with his wife of 54 years, and family by his side.
Mr. Gabino Cedillo, Jr. started his contruction career at the young age of 17. He was employed by Zachry Construction Company of San Antonio Texas and later transferred to Abilene Texas where he and his wife Maria spent a year before returning to Laredo to settle and raise a family.-Mr Gabino Cedillo, Jr. and Maria De La Luz Mendiola met in 1951 during a 15th birthday party at Christen Jr. High School, and after 5 years of courtship, wed in 1956 and raised their children Maria Guadalupe, Julia, Gabino, Adrian, Adan, Rodrigo, and Ana Maria.
With a minimum education, Mr. Cedillo amassed 50 plus years working with well known contruction companies, including: Rogers Construction Company supervising major projects in Laredo Texas such as; Clark Elementary School, Cigarroa Middle School and High School, addition to Mercy Hospital. Until retiring from Laredo Housing Authority as a superintendant and receiving several awards including, "Master Builder."-Mr. Cedillo had a love for the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and golfing, but his true passion was spending time with his family, dancing with his wife Maria and sharing his jokes.
The family would like to express their outmost gratitude to Dr. Luis Benavides, Doctor's Hospital Emergency Room and Staff, and Dr. Batki, Doctor's Hospital 3rd Floor Nurses, Natalia Rodriguez and Margie Herrera from Nurses on Wheels Hospice Care for all the care and compassion you showed our dear father and family.-May God bless you all.
Mr. Cedillo was preceded in death by his parents: Gabino and Antonia Cedillo; brother:-Eduardo Cedillo; sister: Olga Cedillo Nava, and grandson: Adrian Cedillo, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife:-Maria De La Luz Mendiola Cedillo; daughters:-Maria Guadalupe (Manuel, Jr.) Garcia, Julia (Carlos, Jr.) Cruz, Anna Maria (Roel) Esparza;-sons: Gabino (Sonia) Cedillo III, Adrian (Diana) Cedillo, Adan "Gero" (Diana) Cedillo, Rodrigo "Coco"" (Mely) Cedillo;-grandchildren: Manuel III and Emanuel Garcia, Ramiro A. and Enrique A. Villarreal, Gabino IV and Kimberly Ann Cedillo, Andrew, Alexandra, and Allen Cedillo, Adan, Jr., and Priscilla Cedillo, Celina, Clarissa, and Kassandra Cedillo, Danny, Sammy, and Julissa A. Esparza; sister: Antonia Cedillo Martinez, Dolores Chavarria, Maria (Antonio) Casarez, Anastacio (Graciela) Cedillo, Juan (Rosa) Cedillo, and Francisco (Esther) Cedillo.-He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road from 5 to 9 in the evening.-A Vigil will be held at 7 in the evening.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m.
Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
