November 7, 1925 – June 14, 2018
Mr. Francis C. Averill entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Frank proudly served in the US Army as a SGT during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart among other medals for his outstanding bravery and service.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold C. & Rose V. Averill as well as by his twin brother Harold C. Averill, Jr.
and sister-in-law Barbara Averill.
He is survived by his loving wife: Pura B. Averill of Laredo; daughters: Arleen M. Averill of Laredo, and Rosie (Patrick) Hearn of Richmond; sons: F.C. “Pancho” (Anita) Averill, Jr. of Laredo, and Harold C. (Luz Maria) Averill, III of Brownsville; grandsons: John P. (Laura) Hearn of Houston, James (Randi) Hearn of Dallas, and F.C. “Cullen” Averill, III of Palm Springs, CA; granddaughters: Kathryn (Seth) Boschen of Katy, Frances (Duy) Tran of Katy, Arleen (Trey) Thigpin of Dallas, and Cristina Averill of College Station; grandsons: Charles Jerome Averill of Austin, and Harold Carl Averill, IV of Brownsville; as well as by nine great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Wednesday afternoon, the 20th of June 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at
Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday morning, the 21st of June 2018 departing at 9:30 a.m. from
Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Military Honors will be provided after Mass by the Fort Sam Houston Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 59.
Pallbearers will be: John P. Hearn Jr., James C. Hearn, F.C. “Cullen” Averill III, Charles Jerome Averill,
Harold C. Averill IV, Tom Lamont, Mike Murphy, and Pat Murphy.
Cremation will be held at a later date.
