Our beloved father, husband and Gran-pa, Francisco Acosta Sr., 86, of Laredo Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2013. Francisco grew up in Icamole, Saltillo at La Hacienda de los Acostas. Here was his love for the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, to working ranch lands was his favorite past time. He was an orphan who worked at a young age to help his family. He also worked for his tuition at St. Joseph Academy. During WWII he served as a Staff Sgt. with the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Berlin, Germany and was honorably discharged. Still courting then marrying his young love of his life he continued his education at LJC . He even went back to school to take some computer courses. He pride himself in working hard and being the best he could be. He was better known as a general manager for 25 years at the Lone Star Brewing Co. in Laredo, and as a bailiff for the 49th District Court and finally at Sam's where he proudly retired. Family was always very important to him as he married his orphan lady, both whom were raised by their maternal aunts, their love was like no other. Amazing faith was what brought them together and with their opulent love for each other they raised a large happy family of their own, with lots of laughter, tears, and courage bestowed upon them. Francisco fought a good fight, being strong till the end. During this time he was still teaching us that with family and our Lord, Jesus Christ, all things happen for a reason, and that with faith comes strength. His charming ways will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of being the best you can be... "Be an Acosta forever strong!"
