Mrs. Francisca A. Rodriguez, 99, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Juan F. Rodriguez; daughter, Dolores De Luna; parents, Juan Avila and Clara H. Avila; brothers, Salvador Avila and Angel Avila.
Francisca lived a life filled with love and laughter, embracing her roles as a devoted housewife and a nurturing mother and grandmother. She left an indelible mark on our hearts with her vibrant spirit and unwavering faith. A devoted Catholic, Francisca found strength and purpose in her religion, which guided her in every aspect of her life.
She was known for her love of Loteria, Bingo, and the delightful thrill of slot machines. The family will forever treasure the joyful memories of evenings spent playing "pass the trash" card game, where laughter echoed through the room, reminding us of the simple pleasures that brought us together. Francisca’s hobbies extended to her passion for gardening, where she nurtured life and beauty, much like the love she cultivated within her family.
Family gatherings were a frequent joy for Francisca, where her culinary talents shone brightly, filling the home with delicious meals and aromas that united everyone in shared memories. Her dedication to her family reflected a profound love that will continue to resonate through the lives she touched.
Left to cherish his or her memory are her children; Juan F. (Carlota) Rodriguez, Jr., Maria Guadalupe (Luis Armando) Fonseca, Petra Rodriguez, Maria del Carmen R. “MCR” Martinez, and Alex (Nevolena) Rodriguez; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Maria Antonia Avila. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 5:30 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Mary Magdalena #1989, and the second Rosary will commence at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, March 21, 2025 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Juan F. Rodriguez, Jr., Anacleto De Luna III, Juan F. Rodriguez III, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Alejandro Rodriguez, Alvan D. Fonseca, Alex Rodriguez, Jr., and Fernando Rodriguez.
Honorary Pallbearer will be: Alex Rodriguez.
