FORTUNATO M. ALDAPE

January 12, 1942 – March 22, 2021

Fortunato M. Aldape, 79, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, March 22, 2021.

Fortunato M. Aldape (Tito) was a native of Laredo, TX who was the son of Emilio V. Sr and Librada Aldape who started a family owned automotive repair business, Emilio V. Aldape Auto Sales and Service, that served the Laredo community for over 50 years.  He served his country honorably with the US Air Force and was stationed in Montana, USA and London, England.  He was a graduate of Martin High School who went on to earn his BBA and MS degrees from Texas A&I University at Laredo and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, respectively.  Before retiring, he most recently worked for Laredo Community College as the Industrial Trades Coordinator and previously had worked for numerous global automotive companies, i.e. HONDA USA and DANA Corporation, at various levels of management.

Throughout his life he enjoyed the sport of golf, becoming an avid golfer who developed into a highly skilled and proficient player winning numerous prestigious tournaments, locally and in Mexico.  He very much enjoyed the regular weekend golf outings with his fellow golfing friends.  But, most of all he enjoyed golfing with his sons and attending PGA tournaments with them.  This brought him great joy.

He loved his mother and father and was very close with his brothers and sisters and their families, thoroughly enjoying visiting and traveling with them often.  The closeness he had with brothers and sisters was very special and cherished the moments he spent with them always.  He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, getting together socially; in particular, meeting for early breakfast and weekend carne asadas.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife Cata to exotic destinations, i.e. Costa Rica, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and numerous destinations throughout Mexico, i.e. Acapulco and Mexico City. He was a loving father who found great joy spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  He loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with them always.  He was very proud of his children and cherished watching them grow to complete college, earn advanced degrees, and/or start businesses and have professional careers and families of their own.  He loved his grandchildren and took great interest and pride in seeing them grow into young professionals and begin their young lives.

He was a man of distinguished character who loved his family.  His family loved him beyond measure and will miss him always.  Rest In Peace Dad, we love you and miss you already!

He was preceded in death by his parents; Emilio V. and Librada Aldape.
