Faustina Garcia

Miss Faustina "Rosa" Lara Garcia, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 1, 2015, the feast of All Saints at a local hospital. Rosa came from Mexico in 1960 to live with Miss Dora Saenz, whom she faithfully dedicated her life too for over 40 years. Rosa was a very faithful and loyal housekeeper and caretaker of Miss Saenz until her passing several years ago. Miss Garcia continued to reside in Miss Saenz's residence until she became ill and was placed at Retama Manor Nursing Home Laredo West. Rosa lived at Retama West for 10 years until her her illness October 31, 2015. Rosa was well known and well liked in the neighborhood around the 15th hundred block of San Jorge Ave. She loved animals as she always had dogs and many cats and even some parrots. Rosa was also a "great" cook and she loved to prepare many succulent and special dishes for Miss Saenz's family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her many "comadres" and friends. Visiting hours will be from 9:30 am to 10 am at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez, on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. A funeral service will commence at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow to the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
