Eugenio Villegas, 93, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eusebio and Angela Lara Villegas; his son Librado Villegas; and his granddaughter Kristina L. Villegas.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Maria M. Villegas; his children, Olga (Pablo, Jr.) Benavides, Imelda Villegas, Elisa (Joe) Couturier, Delfina (David) Moreno, Roxanne (Larry) Reyna, Fernando (Laura) Villegas, Omar (Juany) Villegas; brother Raul (Hortencia) Villegas; and his sister Celestina V. Castillo. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2018, departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to Santo Nino Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by Fort Sam and Local Post 59.
Pallbearers will be: David Benavides, Gilbert Benavides, Andrew Moreno, Leroy Villegas, Fernando Villegas, and Felix Villegas.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Pablo Benavides III, Galo Benavides, Robert Benavides, Davie Moreno, Justin Villegas, Larry Reyna, Omar Villegas, Jr., Johnny Navarro, Jordan Couturier, and Julian Couturier.
