Eudelia Vazquez

Mrs. Eudelia "Lela" Zepeda Vazquez was called to be with Our Lord on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the age of 89 in Laredo, Texas.

Lela was a lifelong resident of Laredo. She worked with Zales Jewelers and retired after many decades of employment. She was active in various social clubs and charitable events throughout the years such as the Lavenir Social Club, Les Amies Birthday Club, Elysian Club, and Birthday Club. She enjoyed Sunday services at Christ Worship Center, traveling, social gatherings, class reunions, playing bunco and bingo with dear friends, listening to Mariachi music and especially spending time with her family.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit, strong faith, infectious laughter, and words of wisdom.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jose R. Vazquez, beloved son, Jose Vazquez Jr.; her parents, Manuel Zepeda and Enoe Gonzalez Zepeda; brothers, Manuel Zepeda Jr., and Roberto Zepeda.

She is survived by her beloved sons, George A. (Ana Laura) Vazquez and Javier Vazquez; sister Rosa Hernandez, daughter-in-law Esther F. Vazquez; nine dear grandchildren, Maria E. "Gina" (Raul) Rodriguez, Laura Eudelia (Joe) Gutierrez, Mariana (Steve)-Royer, Monica A. (Paul) Green, Jorge A. (Ana) Vazquez Jr., Cesar A. Vazquez, Gabriel A. Vazquez, Melissa B. Vazquez, Jose A. Vazquez, as well as ten great grandchildren, Samantha and Nicole Rodriguez, Rebecca, Olivia and Benjamin Gutierrez, Danielle and Gabriela Royer, Benjamin and Adriana Vazquez, and Mitchell Vazquez.

The family would like to extend their utmost sincere gratitude to Dr. Milton Haber and his staff as well as the wonderful staff at Laredo Specialty Hospital.

Pallbearers will be: Jorge A. Vazquez Jr., Cesar A. Vazquez, Gabriel A. Vazquez, Raul J. Rodriguez, Joe Gutierrez, Steve Royer, and Paul L. Green.
