Ernesto Roberto Zuniga, 76, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Ernesto was born and raised in Laredo, Texas to Ernesto and Beatriz Zuniga. He worked for Tex Mex Railways for many years until retirement. He was also an avid collector of antique cars, and absolutely loved spending time at the ranch with all of his family. Mr. Zuniga will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents: Ernesto and Beatriz Zuniga. Ernesto is survived by his loving wife: Maria Ines Zuniga; children: Ernesto "Bobby" Roberto (Sara Alicia) Zuniga, Jr., Graciela (Roberto) Garza, Cynthia Zuniga; grandchildren: Ernesto Roberto (Raquel) Zuniga III, Daniel Andres (Evelyn) Zuniga, Alejandro Alberto Zuniga, Gabriela Zuniga, Ashley E. Garza, Amanda E. Garza, Alyssa E. Garza, Sophia B. Ruiz; great-grandchildren: Arlette Zuniga, Daniel Zuniga, Jr., Ernesto Zuniga IV; sister: Juanita (Juan) Castillo; sister-in-law: Irma Hernandez, along with nieces: Melissa Herrera, Marissa (Juan) Ramos; nephew: Mario A. (Dalia) Castillo, and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 departing the funeral home at 9:30 am to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
