ERNESTO SANDOVAL
April 28, 1931 - December 01, 2015

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of Ernesto Sandoval. We are happy that he is with God now, but saddened by his absence. His presence will be forever felt in the hearts of our family due to the legacy he left behind.

Ernesto was one of eight children born during the great depression, and raised with the values of understanding, compassion, integrity, and love. He loved his brothers, sisters, his wife of 61 years and his children.

He is a veteran of the Korean Conflict in which he earned four bronze stars for his heroic service in a combat zone.

If there was one thing that you could count on from our father was his no nonsense honesty and practical approach to things. Most importantly, we thank him for being a great father, teacher, grandfather, and friend. Go be with God.. We love you and will miss you very much.

Ernesto is preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Mirtha Sandoval; his siblings, Julio (Gloria) Sandoval, Jr., Antonio (Maria) Sandoval, Gloria (Lucio) Reyes, Samuel (Elia) Sandoval, Jesus "Chito" Sandoval, and Emma (Oscar) Cavazos.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Blanca Sandoval; daughters, Alma (Jesus) Saldivar, Martha (Pedro) Bustamante; son Ernesto Sandoval, Jr. and his fiancé Patricia Martinez; grandchildren, Jessica Saldivar, Richard (Mary) Saldivar; great-grandchildren, Noah Anthony Saldivar Cano, Richard Benjamin Saldivar; and his sister Mirtha Gonzalez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 03, 2015 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Springfield Funeral Chapels, 1900 Springfield; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 04, 2015 departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
