Ernestina R. Herrera, 92, an outstanding Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 3, 2010.
As a mother of eight, she dedicated all her life to loving her children, and through her actions instilled great morals and values that will be passed down to the future generations of this family, and whom are truly grateful for.
As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she did what grandmothers do best, she unconditionally loved each grand and great-grandchild.-Another one of her great passions was being surrounded by her family and friends sitting around during "carne asadas."-
Ernestina R. Herrera was preceded in death by her Husband; Rafael Herrera; Son; Rafael Herrera, Jr., Parents; Venancio and Isabel Ramos and her brother; Daniel (Aracelia) Ramos Sr.
She is survived by her sons and daughters; Isabel (Celso) Sanchez, III, Daniel (Lily) Herrera, Juanita (Ricardo) Garcia, Diana (Clemente) Salinas, Ernesto (Cindy) Herrera from Carrizo Springs, Tx., Araceli (Joseph) Wisnoski from Austin, TX., Edna (Hector ) Romero from Austin, TX., Brother; Alberto (Maria) Ramos, her grandchildren; Ricardo (Dora) Garcia, Jr., Sergio D. Garcia, Eduardo J. (Angel) Garcia, Elizabeth (Rene) Barrerda, Celso (Martha) Sanchez, IV., Heraldo Salinas, Marissa Herrera, Daniel Herrera, Jr., Ernesto Herrera, Jr. from Austin, TX., Roberto (Angie) Herrera from Round Rock, TX., Christina (Raul) De La Garza from San Antonio, TX., Jennifer (Corey) Hough from San Antonio, TX., Patricia (James) Criddle from Seattle, WA., Melinda Herrera from Seattle, WA., Michelle (Gilbert) Iruegas from Mission, TX., Jessica Wisnoski, Alyssa Romero and Iliana Romero all from Austin, TX., and 17 great-grandchildren.-She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, family, friends, and all who knew her.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Luis Benavides, Regent Care Center staff, "Lila Wing" nurses and C.N.A.'s.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road from 5 to 9 in the evening.-A Vigil will be held at 7 in the evening.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m.-Cortege will depart at 8:00 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels.
Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
