Erasmo Benavides

Erasmo Eraclio Benavides, 60, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 8, 2014. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. One of Mr. Benavides's greatest passions in life was music and taught it well. His instrument of choice was the accordion, and also played at Santo Nio Catholic Church. Erasmo is preceded in death by his father: Leonardo Benavides, and sister: Ninfa Benavides. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years: Bertha Alicia Benavides; children: Erasmo Jesus (Jessica) Benavides, Elizabeth Noemi Benavides, Jose Leonardo Benavides, Julio Alejandro Benavides; grandchildren: Carlos Erasmo, Julio Cesar, Shawndra Bridget, Daniel Aaron, and Julio Alejandro Benavides; mother: Alejandra Benavides; brothers: Jesus A. (Lupita) Benavides, Leonardo Benavides, Jr., Bartolome Blas (Graciela) Benavides, Jose Maria (Patricia) Benavides; sisters: Vilma (Gary) Mackey, Rebecca (Juan) Cabriales, and Ninfa (Frank) Funke. He also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring @ Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be held at 7 in the evening. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to Santo Nio Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Church.
