Enrique Vela, 77, passed away Monday, April 03, 2017. Enrique Vela was a devout Catholic at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church, a rancher, and a loving husband. He was also a caring and compassionate father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique Vela Sr. and Maria Emilia C. Vela; as well as by his brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Celsa Vela; children, Nelvia (Alector) Garza, Patricia Vela, Jacqueline Vela, Sonia Vela; grandchildren, Alector Jr., Grecia, Carlos Garza, Luis Enrique, Marc Moya, Vanessa, Raul Sarli Jr., Jonathon (Lilia) Vela, Stephanie Ramirez, Sonia, and Wesslie Hernandez. He is further survived by his sisters, relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 05, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel, 1410 Jacaman Road. A Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 06, 2017 at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. At the family’s request, all attending please meet at Church.

Interment will then continue to the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his beloved grandchildren.
